🇬🇧 Hi! How are things going for you? Today I'm here with a novel from English Literature.

Today's review will be about the novel Radio Silence, by the British author Alice Oseman.
---
It was first published in 2016, and it was re-printed this year 2022.
The story takes place in Kent, England, where the author is from.
It sees the life of Frances, a teenage girl that has been a "study machine" for all her life with just one goal, get into an elite university.
Nothing will stand in her way, but things change when she meets Aled, and for the first time in her life, she isn't afraid to be herself, freely.
Thanks to her favourite podcast, Radio Silence, she will discover a new freedom. But when the trust bond between her and Aled gets broken, she's left thinking about who she was before and who she longs to be now.
She is left with having to confront her past, and what happened to Carys, Aled's sister. She has to confess why she disappeared.
It's only by facing up to your fears that you can overcome them. And it's only by being your true self that you can find happiness.
But what if everything you set yourself up to be, in the end, isn't what you really wanted?
The book explores the themes of LGBT and mental health issues, especially depression.
About the author: Alice Oseman is class 1994 and is from Kent, UK. Her other books are Solitaire (her first novel), Heartstopper (became pretty popular on the social media. It got adapted into a Netflix tv series (:) and Loveless (her most recent one). She writes young adult novels.

Second attempt reading Alice Oseman and I wasn't disappointed. Clearly it's nothing compared to Heartstopper that still holds my heart hahah but it was a really cute reading.
I got the feeling while reading it that it would have ended badly, but thankfully it didn't. It ended just the way I wanted it (: The characters were all amiable and I felt actually connected to their problems, because they were also mine while I was a teen.
The story, obviously, from the themes that are being faced, is not all roses, so get ready ;)
It's a 4/5 recommendation!
