Today's review will be about the novel Before Coffee Gets Cold by the Japanese author Toshikazu Kawaguchi.

It was firstly published in 2015, and it's part of a trilogy that includes also: Tales from the Cafè and Before Your Memory Fades.
The story takes place in a small back alley in Tokyo, where this small cafè has been serving brewed coffee for more than one hundred years. There is one unique experience that the customers can have here.
The chance to travel back in time.
What would you change if you could go back in time?
In the book we meet four visitors, each one of them with four different requests from this possibility. But the journey into the past does not come without risks: customers must sit in a particular seat, they cannot leave the café, and must return to the present before the coffee gets cold.
Who would you want to meet, maybe for one last time?

It was the first book of his I've read and it was a good experience.
I actually liked it a lot. The second story was so touching and so were the last two.
I cried a lot to be honest, so prepare the tissues.
I had high expectations about it because everyone seemed to love it, and now I get why (:

Pubblicato per la prima volta nel 2015, fa parte di una trilogia che comprende anche: Basta un Caffè Per Essere Felici e Il Primo Caffè Della Giornata.
La storia si svolge in un piccolo vicolo di Tokyo, dove questo piccolo caffè serve caffè preparato da più di cento anni. C'è un'esperienza unica che i clienti possono vivere qui.
La possibilità di viaggiare indietro nel tempo.
Cosa cambieresti se potessi tornare indietro nel tempo?
Nel libro incontriamo quattro visitatori, ognuno con quattro richieste diverse da questa possibilità. Ma il viaggio nel passato non arriva senza rischi: i clienti devono sedersi in un posto particolare, non possono lasciare il bar e devono tornare al presente prima che il caffè si raffreddi.

È stato il primo suo libro che ho letto ed è stata una bella esperienza.
In realtà mi è piaciuto molto. La seconda storia è stata così toccante, così come le ultime due.
Ho pianto molto a dire il vero, quindi preparate i fazzoletti.
Avevo grandi aspettative al riguardo perché tutti sembravano amarlo, e ora capisco perché (:
