Today's reviews will be about the novels The Moving Finger and Mrs McGinty's Dead by the British author Agatha Christie.

The first book was published in 1942 in the US and 1943 in the UK, it's part of the series of book including the character of Ms Marple.
It sees the Burtons siblings as main characters. They arrive in the small town of Lymstock in Devon, but soon receive an anonymous letter accusing them of being lovers, not siblings, writing bad things about both of them.
They don't seem to be the only people receiving these kind of letters, though, and soon a prominent resident is found dead with one of those letters found next to her.
The novel features an eldery Miss Marple in a minor role this time. She enters the story in the final quarter of the book, after that the police couldn't solve the case.
The second book instead, was first published in 1952.
The novel sees Hercule Poirot and Ariadne Oliver as main characters.
The story is a "village mystery" and is notable for its wit and comic detail, something that we didn't see much in his stories of the 30s and 40s.
Poirot is sent to a little town to investigate about a woman's death, Mrs McGinty, and to verify that the man that was accused of murdering her, Bentley, a roommate of this lady is really at fault.
He was sentenced to death penalty with this accusation.
Will he be able to find out the truth? Was it really Bentley who killed Mrs McGinty?

It's my third time reading something from Agatha Christie.
For The Moving Finger I didn't expect that plot twist at the end to be honest. So it surprised me for good. As a first experience with Ms Marple, it wasn't bad. I quite liked it.
Instead Mrs McGinty's Dead was okay, but I prefer the "younger" Poirot.
I wasn't expecting who the guilty one was to be honest. But I couldn't stand that person, so I'm glad of it hahah really liked this book (:
I liked them both and they're recommended: 4/5!

Il primo libro è stato pubblicato nel 1942 negli Stati Uniti e nel 1943 nel Regno Unito, fa parte della serie di libri che include il personaggio di Miss Marple.
Vede i fratelli Burtons come protagonisti. Arrivano nella piccola città di Lymstock nel Devon, ma presto ricevono una lettera anonima che li accusa di essere amanti, non fratelli, scrivendo cose cattive su entrambi.
Tuttavia, non sembrano essere le uniche persone a ricevere questo tipo di lettere e presto un residente di spicco viene trovato morto con una di quelle lettere trovate accanto a lei.
Il romanzo presenta un'anziana Miss Marple in un ruolo minore questa volta. Entra nella storia nell'ultimo quarto del libro, dopo che la polizia non è riuscita a risolvere il caso.
Il secondo libro invece, fu pubblicato per la prima volta nel 1952.

La storia è un "mistero del villaggio" ed è notevole per la sua arguzia e per i dettagli comici, qualcosa che non abbiamo visto molto nelle sue storie degli anni '30 e '40.
Poirot viene inviato in una piccola città per indagare sulla morte di una donna, la signora McGinty, e per verificare che l'uomo accusato di averla uccisa, Bentley, coinquilino di questa signora, sia davvero colpevole.
Con questa accusa è stato condannato alla pena di morte.
Riuscirà a scoprire la verità? È stato davvero Bentley a uccidere la signora McGinty?

È la terza volta che leggo qualcosa di Agatha Christie.
Per Il Terrore Viene Per Posta non mi aspettavo quel colpo di scena alla fine ad essere onesti. Quindi mi ha sorpreso notevolmente. Come prima esperienza con Miss Marple, non è stata male. Mi è piaciuto abbastanza.
Invece Fermate il Boia è stato okay, ma preferisco il Poirot "più giovane".
Ad essere onesta, non mi aspettavo chi fosse il colpevole. Ma non potevo sopportare quella persona, quindi sono contenta hahah mi è piaciuto molto questo libro (:
Mi sono piaciuti entrambi e sono consigliati: 4/5!
